About Carol
Hello, my name is Carol Holesak. I was raised in a traditional Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, and I loved observing the Jewish holidays.
My life changed during the Christmas season of 1978 when I was 31 years old. At that time, I was living with my boyfriend Louis and my 8-year-old son, Erik, in Boca Raton, Florida. I was working as a hairdresser at JC Penney Hair Salon, and I regularly used marijuana. Looking back, I realize I was not emotionally stable due to many traumatic experiences in my younger years.
That Christmas, I received a gift from a client—a Bible. Instead of a Starbucks card or a pretty scarf, I got this unexpected present. The client not only gave me the Bible but also encouraged me to read the Book of John. My first thought was that I would toss it in the trash as soon as I left. However, God had other plans, and I found myself reading the Book of John. In John 14:6, Jesus told Thomas, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." I didn’t understand why these words resonated with me so profoundly; looking back, I can see it was the Holy Spirit at work.
As a result of my reading and reflection, my life choices began to change in accordance with God's Word. Louis and I married, committed to reading the Bible regularly, gave up marijuana, and chose to live a life more pleasing to the Lord. Through these godly choices and the leading of the Holy Spirit, I experienced the healing power of God's love.
I felt the faithfulness of God supporting me in overcoming negative thoughts and behaviors.
I embraced God's promises found in Scripture, such as in John 16:33, where Jesus says, "These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
He used the hardships of my life to help others in ways only He can. For over 30 years, I have had the privilege of encouraging and ministering to women facing various life challenges.
After years of encouragement from others to share my story, I finally wrote my book, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus: The Life Journey of a Jewish Girl Who Came to Know Jesus the Messiah."
